It updates the reference window next time a reference is refreshed (e.g. by clicking on it in the list again).

OK.

To not create another thread on dark mode colours, I also wanted to mention if you adjust the colour of the highlight when a ref is already in the database, currently it is bright yellow that makes text difficult to read (this is in the Pubmed browser):
