Suppress ibid while placing author in front

I want to suppress ibid. whenever I place an author in front of the citation using a caret, as "ibid.(x) argues that ..." doesn't make much sense.
However it is not possible to combine = and ^ in the temporary citation. What other way is there to achieve this?

Type the author name in the body of the text yourself.
