Remove duplicates - case sensitive or insensitive search?

Post by DrJJWMac »

Does the search for remove duplicates do a case sensitive or a case insensitive search? My brief experience suggests the search is case sensitive on the title. So TITLE and Title and title are three different versions (in this case of duplicate bibliographies).

It would be useful to know whether the search is case insensitive or case sensitive across all options by default.

I think all searches in Bookends are case-insensitive. I just checked Remove Duplications and it identified 2 references that differed only in the case of words in the title as duplicates.

OK. My re-test shows that searching on titles is case insensitive and also ignores extra white spaces.

I'm not sure why I had a reference that failed in the previous case even though the only apparent difference in the title seemed to be using Title Case versus Sentence case format.
