Set author names as single word

Post by tarot sport »

I'm sure this has already been discussed but I couldn't find anything through the search function. The question is straightforward: how can I manage the author/editor field so that it is recognized as a single, unique word, and not organized into surname-name format? This is particularly necessary in the case of books written by collectives or institutions.

Practical example:
NO: "Smith, Adam I."
YES: "Adam Smith Inc."

You can modify your format manager to setup like that.

There is an option there to use either Doe, John or John Doe

But, if you want this kind of setup only for some references, you can setup a new category/type for them.

YOU can develop a new "type", for example ibook category (to mean books authored by institutions); and then, set up the order authors like the above image for the ibook category only.

Thank you for the quick answer. Could you expand on the steps to create a new "type"?

First, go to the Preference and define a new "type", under the "Refs" tab.

For example, you can rename Unused 3 to "ibook"

- close the Preference and go to the Format manager. There, you can "Add Type"---> select the "ibook"type.

Once you add the "ibook" type, you will configure it as I showed you in the first reply.

To cite an institutional name, put a comma at the end. Bookends will not parse it.

Adam Smith Inc.,
