Export revised file when an older file version already exists

Post by DrJJWMac »

I am annotating PDFs on a routine basis. I have a folder at the Finder level where I export the annotated files. I send them off to collaborators. Sometimes, I may update an annotation even before I clear the export folder. I just tried to re-export an annotated PDF to the export folder with the hope to overwrite (replace) the existing file. Instead, I get a message that the newly annotated file is not exported because a file with the same name already exists.

Please consider making the export option behave in the same way as a standard Finder approach. For example, I expected a dialog with the equivalent of "File exists ... Replace or Skip or Cancel" with the option (checkbox) to do the same for all equivalent files.

I'll think about that.

In the next update if an attachment file is already in the export destination Bookends will move it to the Trash and then proceed with the export.
