Adding a library

Post by Lew »

Am a new user, have searched the forum, so sorry if I have overlooked this question elsewhere.

I am at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. One of the best things about Endnote is its ability to connect directly to our library and download files. Is this possible in Bookends? If so, how, or can you point me to answer elsewhere?

thanks.

It is probably possible. Details on creating a filter are in the User Guide. Basically, you can open the EN connection file in EndNote and copy the relevant information to a new filter you create in Bookends (Z39.50 server address, port, database name). If it serves MARC records, the default tags you find in another Bookends library search filter will probably work (or at least be a good place to start).

Try to create such a filter, and contact me directly if you run into problems.
