Import from PUCP (Peru)

Post by Wanderer »

Hi. I'm a new Bookends user, and I try to create an import filter for the library of Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP).

When I export my search result from the website, I usually get an ASCII plain text file like this:

Code: Select all

*** DOCUMENT BOUNDARY ***
FORM=MARC
.000. |aam 0c
.008. |a051213n 000 0 spa u
.020. |a8484790681
.035. |a(Sirsi) a398746
.044. |asp
.050. |aF 3502 |bE6
.082. |a985.03 |bP
.245. 00|aEp‚itome Cronol‚ogico o Idea general del Per‚u :|bcr‚onica in‚edita
de 1776 /|cestudio y transcripci‚on V‚ictor Peralta Ruiz
.260. |aMadrid : |bFundaci‚on Mapfre Tavera, |c2005
.300. |a320 p. :|bil.
.596. |a1 10
.600. |aLlano Zapata, Jos‚e Eusebio de, |d1716?-1780
.650. |aCr‚onicas |zPer‚u |xEstudio y cr‚itica
.651. |aPer‚u |xHistoria |yColonia
.700. |aPeralta Ruiz, V‚ictor
I have tried to import this with each filter available in the program, getting later the usual message "Done. No references when imported" in the best of the cases. Also I have read the User Guide, but I get lost when I try to know which specific fields I have to edit in order to get a new import filter. Could anybody help me?

Thanks in advance,

Wanderer

P.S.: My apologies for my poor English. Lack of practice, I guess...

Bookends won't like the . in front of the numbers. If you can get past that, you'd have to edit the filter to look for |, rather than $, as a field separator.

Thanks Jon. I'll make some changes in my filter. Cross fingers...
