Booxter import

Post by jweaks »

I enjoyed using Booxter to load references, since I can scan bar codes with the camera. When I create an export file in TextBib format, Bookends doesn't handle the data very well. Last and First names are reversed. German characters were garbled. Publisher name and city are combined into Publisher field.
Suggestions? Lemme guess... this is all Booxter's fault on the exporting end? ;)
Since Booxter can export into a custom tab-delim file, I think that will end up being the best solution if one can create a custom import filter for the file in Bookends. This would allow the inclusion of fields such as Price and Library of Congress Number, etc.
Am I right on this?

I just did a Booxter BibTeX export/Bookends BibteX import, and it worked fine. Didn't try German characters, but accented characters I inserted imported OK (turn on convert from TeX in Bookends BibTeX Preferences).
