Hello,
Has any experience with importing from the Historical Abstracts database and perhaps created a filter for it?

ABC-CLIO Historical Abstracts
Just to let you know: this is what the helpdesk just let me know:
"Our databases don't support Z39.50 and we have no current plans to do
so.
Currently we provide import filters for EndNote and ProCite and with our
site Version 4 (January 2006) will be offering direct export to EndNote,
ProCite, and Reference Manager in their RIS tagged format."
This should make it fairly easy to import in the near future.

Journal article all-caps problem
Gerben, or anybody else for that matter - importing from RIS works flawlessly, the only problem I encounter is that the RIS-file it creates capitalizes the titles of journal articles, which end up in all-caps in BE as well. Of course this can be corrected manually, but when importing large amount of data this can be cumbersome - would there be a way of automating this task on import?
Sorry, Jon, was just about to post back that I had discovered this option - there is always more to BE than one thinks! The only problem I am facing now is how to tackle different capitalization rules for titles in different languages, but I guess this really is something which can only be manually achieved.
Right. There is a list (in Preferences) of words whose case should not be changed, which may be of some help. But of course if the rule for a particular word differs by language, then you do have to edit it yourself. Nonetheless, Bookends should be able to do the vast majority of the work for you.
