Sharing into Bookends from RIS link on an articles?

Post by DrJJWMac »

How do I get the Share extension to recognize an RIS link to export into Bookends iPadOS?

I am viewing an article on line (Safari). That article has three icons, Share (to social media sites), View In (Mendeley), and Export (RIS). I click AND HOLD on the RIS button to bring up an RIS pane and a context menu. The last menu choice in the context menu is Share.... I open that Share... menu and can see apps such as DEVONthink, PDF Expert, 1Writer. Mail ... I go further to More and see a host of other apps (ReadCube Papers, Mendeley, Notes, ...). But I do not see Bookends???!!!

What settings do I need to change to fix this?

Please share your link here or to my email, I tried to import RIS from JSTOR and the file was downloaded in Safari first and then on tap was imported to Bookends, for some reasons other apps weren't proposed by iOS.

FWIW, I can save probably save and import. What I want however is to have the option to export via Share by clicking on the RIS button icon.

Thank you, a feature request added, currently BOT doesn't support this type of sharing.
