Upgraded my iPhone, now can't sync

I just upgraded to an iPhone 5 (after dropping my iPhone 4). i0S 6.13; OS 10.8.3. I am on my home network and have never had any problems syncing here before.

I installed Bookends on Tap,opened Bookends on my Mac, went down to "Sync", got the code, clicked on my device name in Bookends side window, got the window to put the code into, put the code in, and - nothing. It is just spinning and spinning. It's been 10 minutes now. I tried turning Bluetooth off and doing it again, but no luck. Both devices are on the same network (my home wifi). Bookends can see my device. I have typed in the right code. But it just hangs there.

What do I do now?

Please take a look at the troubleshooting section of the user guide (near the end):

And if that doesn't help, Please install Apple's Remote app to see if it links fine with iTunes on your Mac.
