New iOS 9 Save As PDF feature

Post by suavito »

Just recently I purchased an iPad as a mobile companion to my Mac and I was very disappointed how bad the results were when I tried to save web pages as PDF. And I had tried more than just one third party solution.

So when I found out that iOS 9 had a native Save As PDF feature I installed the beta. The results are very pleasing with the one exception that they can only get send to iBooks. Which is a buggy pain when it comes to sync with its Mac counterpart.

You as developers certainly know a bit more about this new Save As PDF feature—is it an open API that allows to Save As PDF to any app as soon as these apps are updated to gain access to this feature? Will we be able to save web pages as PDF from Safari to Bookends On Tap at least when iOS 9 is officially released?

It’s not clear yet whether this feature will be available to all apps or just iBooks.
