Sync tags to iOS?

Post by pruppert »

Is it possible to have file tags created on OS X synced and viewable on the iOS app? Tags are a great way of organizing and navigating a library. It would be great to have this feature on iOS.

If not available now, is this planned?
Thanks.

You mean PDF tags? They belong to the PDF, not Bookends, so they are synced (and move with the PDF wherever you put it, even if you transfer it from one Mac to another in the Finder).

Thanks for the response. I wish there was a way to display and navigate them in the iPad app. I was testing the apps today and it seems that annotating a PDF on iPad and syncing the changes back to Mac overwrites the file on the Mac and wipes out its Finder tags. So you're left with the annotations but all the tags are gone. Is that a bug?

It seems we can work with finder tags on OS X only and iOS doesn't retain them when a file is saved.
