Pulling in Metadata

Post by ssseeerrr »

Firstly, congratualations on the new Bookends for iOS.

There is one thing that is still a source of frustration for me. When I pull in new scientific / medical journal articles via Safari on my iPad Bookends usually populates all the reference fields (title, author, year, journal etc) perfectly.

However, when I switch to Arts journals, even well known ones from Oxford and Cambridge, the PDF is pulled into Bookends, but either the metadata is gibberish or non-existent.

I thought that this was perhaps a problem with the metadata provided by the publisher.

However, Papership consistently pulls in the correct metadata from the same articles and attaches the PDF to that new reference leaving nothing for me to do.

I'm wondering why Bookends is unable to do this and if there are any improvements in the pipeline?

Currently BOT doesn't autofill metadata on attachments import, but this feature is planned.
