Requests: Changes to Input Lines for Searches

Post by DrJJWMac »

* It would be helpful when the advanced search editor window (eg PubMed) would populate itself with the terms from the most recent search.

I am doing advanced searches that I wish to modify on the fly. The cumbersome aspect of this is that I have to re-enter the search terms each time.

* It would be helpful when the search input line would allow me to move through the search term to edit, eg with arrow keys.

I am doing searches with combinations of Boolean links. When I have a mistake in the first term in a long list, I cannot scroll back to change it.

Thank you for your feedback! I agree that the advanced search form and the main search field could be improved. We will look what can be done here a bit later, but can you please give more details about the last sentence. You can send a screenshot to support@referencesontap.com.

For example, consider in an arXiv search that I want to change this line:

nanoparticle film AND Langmuir AND "last 1 year" [dp]

to:

nanoparticle AND "Langmuir film" AND "last 1 year" [dp]

I am stuck trying to edit a line that appears this way [...]angmuir AND "last 1 year" [dp]

Did you try to tap and hold the space bar to enter keyboard trackpad mode to move the cursor around the text.

Thanks.
