Is it possible to add a version of autocomplete to the IOS version. Perhaps with a smaller number of options. My shortlist is PubMed, google scholar and Crossref.

Did you try "Autofill From Internet" via the Edit button from the toolbar? It tries to fetch available information by PMID, DOI, or ISBN.
