Preserving case in titles

I'm sure the answer is in the manual, but I can't find it. If a report's title has, e.g., the roman numeral XV, and I want the bilbiography to print the number that way instead of Xv, what do I do?

Enter "XV" in the list of title items whose case should not be changed (Preferences).

Thanks Jon. I am puzzled, however, as to why this isn't in a Custom folder within Application Support. I'm sure you have a good reason, but the logic eludes me.

In any case, this shows again that where there ought to be a way, there almost always is--at least with Bookends.

It's been 2 years since anyone has had this problem, so I'm sure I'm goofing somewhere.

In Preferences>Scan&Bib>Sentence & Title Case (Don't change case) I have entered Roman numeral 2 (II—that's two capital letters).
In Formatting Options (for journal article for selected style) I have 'Title Case' selected.
I have entered the title as : 'Hybris' and Dishonour: II (that's two capital letters).

The output, however, (for a journal article) is:

“'Hybris' and Dishonour: Ii.”

What can I do to fix this?

It works for me. It's possible that your preferences are corrupted. Please remove the file 'Bookends 10 Preferences' from your preferences folder and relaunch Bookends. Edit the "don't change case" list and try now.

This doesn't help. (Only requires remaking prefs. —I replaced old prefs. No worries.)

But I've discovered it has to do with the formatting style. I use MLA and for some reason it produces this result, whereas others (Oxford Author Date, e.g.) don't.

Can those become corrupt?
When I look at the 'code' for what it is to show, all looks fine...

Try rewriting from scratch?

On reinspection, I see that this happens when you have the colon in the title. I'll look into that. The workaround for now is to add *two* spaces after the colon. Then it works as it should. And Bookends outputs only one space after the colon, anyway, in the final result. So this should give you exactly what you want.
