Nisus scan—ambiguous citations

Post by jb »

I've been fiddling with Nisus (Pro) trying to figure out how well it works with Bookends.

My in-text citations use author and date, with 'Append letter to year' selected for ambiguous citations. If I have more than one work with same author and same date, the scan process (via the Nisus macro 'Bookends NWP Scan a Doc') needs to be told which item I want for the Bib. This is a bit of a nuisance of course. I'm enough of a dunce to be puzzled by this, but especially since Mellel has no such trouble.

Can you explain or offer any suggestion? (Just use Mellel?) Am I missing something?

Thanks
Jon

Hi,

Sounds like you are using a journal (publication) format (MLA) to generate temp citations. This should not be done. Either create your own for this purpose, or use one of the default ones (by content or by author, date, unique id).
