Links to Devonthink notes (again)

Post by philosopher_dog »

I'm just wondering if anyone has figured out how to link to notes in Devonthink. DT generates a little link that should in theory take you to an entry from an external application. However, it doesn't seem to work from BE using the url field. The links like something like this
x-devonthink-item://3F5D167B-DD14-41F3-8EB8-7D0DC2914559 . DT can also generate paths to the files, but I can't get those to open either from the url field.

That's not a URL, it's a URI. If you put it in any other Bookends field and right click and select it, does it work?

Weird. It seems to be working today. It shows up as a link in the url field, jumps to the note when clicked or when you right click and open url. Not sure why this wasn't working yesterday. Thanx for the reply.

Sorry to go back to basics, but how do you create those "x-devonthink-item:" links?

To answer my own question (easily findable on another thread), you select the item in DevonThink and choose Copy Item Link from the Edit menu, and paste into any(?) Bookends field.

Hi,

Any field should work (you can access the URI with a right-click in that field).
