Hi Jon

Here's some thoughts regarding future use of BE

Have you ever consideret of implementing the possibility of using BE with Google Docs? Also, in a not so distant future, Google is expected to introduce Google Wave to a broader audience, thereby allowing simultanous real-time editing by more users in one document. This is perfect for scientific groups, and others, working towards a common goal, i.e. an article.

I've just tried with Safari to insert a citation in a Google document but, not surprisingly, it dit not work. However, I don't miss the opportunity of using BE with online documents, but one day one could imagine the need of such use of BE. However, I guess that there must be some difficulties, and differences between browsesr, in getting BE to work that way.

Any thoughts on the matter and what the future might bring for BE would be appreciated

Hi,

Interesting idea. I'm not very familiar with Google docs. Do you know what the file format is? Or if the file can be downloaded and saved in an open format (like .odt or RTF)?

Hi,

Yes, it could indeed be an extremely cool feature of BE and something to bring it upfront, leaving other bibliographic programs back in a cloud of dust.

Google Docs has the opportunity to export (or rather Download As) in different formats:

• HTML (Zipped)
• OpenOffice
• PDF
• RTF
• Text
• Word

So there should be a few possibilities of doing something there, I guess

The cool thing about Wave (when it opens up) and Docs is that you have your document in one place and that several people can edit at the same time. If BE could be used under those circumstances it would be an incredibly strong tool in the creation of multiple-author articles.
