I need to create an abbreviations list for my thesis which lists all of the abbreviations for Journals, Series, etc., that are used in the thesis. I am using the SBL Journal Glossary for abbreviations, but I do not need the entire list. Is there an easy way to generate a list of abbreviations used in the paper?
PS--I don't necessarily expect BookEnds to have this feature, but I am hoping perhaps I have overlooked something that will make life easier.
Thanks.
Jim
Abbreviations List
Re: Abbreviations List
There's no way to do this in Bookends. But the glossaries are just tab-delimited text files. You can open them in a spreadsheet and delete the ones you don't want. If you want to save the result as a journal glossary, you must assign it the file type BEPG (with a free app like FileType).

Re: Abbreviations List
Thanks Jon. That was very helpful. Surprisingly (or perhaps not), Apple's Numbers (08) could not open the Journal Glossary, but MS Excel would (2007 in Fusion). Still, this will save me a lot of typing. Thanks again for the tip.
