Feature request - Focus search field when switching to BE
I was wondering whether it would be possible for BE to focus the search field whenever I switch to it from my word processor? Currently I use a Mellel/BE combo (which I love!) and I switch from Mellel to BE via cmd-y. However, I then have to either manually move to the search field or press cmd-opt-f before I can start searching for my reference. Wouldn't it be possible to include a preference so BE could focus this field directly when switching to it? It would save me about 0.5sec per reference.....
.

Isn't that a bit of preference overkill? :-) You know there is a button in the Mellel bibliography palette that returns you to Bookends with the Find dialog open (and filled in with whatever text was selected in Mellel), right?

I have a related request (the answer of which probably solves the original request): would it be possible to set the behavior of Tab to rotate between all editable elements in the list window?
So far, when tab hits the Summary pane, tab goes back to list, and from that point on tab only cycles back and forth between list and summary. My preference would be to be able to use tab (not just shift-tab) to access all elements in the window. In the user's example, the user would only need to hit tab a couple of times till s/he gets to the live search. Tab is easier and more intuitive to me than shift-Tab (which is the current implementation).

Hm, I thought tab used to work that way (I'm sure it did). I'll see what I can do for the next update.

P.S. Command-Option-F is the shortcut for placing the cursor in the List Search textbox.

Re: Feature request - Focus search field when switching to BE
Maybe a little overkill I agree, but still.....
Another option would be to use the tab key - or a better keyboard shortcut. The problem with cmd-opt F (unlike shift-cmd F) is that it requires two hands..... Is there any way to change the shortcut? I know this is nitpicking, but when you have loads of references, it really makes a big difference.

I use Option-Command-F with one hand with no difficulty (maybe I have small hands).
In any case, Tab will rotate through the list, live search box, and concise view in 11.0.2 (already done).
