Restoring default formats

Post by TXCiclista »

So I've apparently "tweaked" the various formats so much that even I don't know why it uses certain fields now. I'd like to just go back to the original citation formats and trash all my changes. How do I do that?

If you modify formats, the original formats will be left untouched (at least since Bookends version 9.x or something like that).

Your modifications are stored in your home folder > Library > Application Support > Bookends > Custom Formats. The default formats should always remain in the Bookends folder in your applications folder.)

So you just have to switch to the original format in Bookends’ format manager (and/or you throw away your custom formats from your user library). Then you should be done! :)

ozean is right. Also, if you have ever deleted a format you want back, they are all available on our anonymous ftp site:

viewtopic.php?f=3&t=1880

(Note that at least for me Safari sometimes won't access the ftp server -- Firefox always does).
