Window layout - Groups pane

Post by jb »

Each time I close Bookends it clearly 'forgets' the window layout. When I relaunch, the width of the Groups pane returns to some kind of 'default' position which is not as I prefer it. It assumes a width of a bit more than 1/3 of my screen. This happens each time I launch. Is it just me?

I use a single database.

Edit: Using BE 11.0.4. (I'm pretty sure this didn't happen with 10, from which I've recently switched.)

Nothing has changed in this regard. It may be that the internal table that holds these settings is damaged. Rebuild the database *without saving user settings*. If the newly rebuilt database remembers its position, that's the answer. If it doesn't there's something else going on and you should contact tech support.

Thanks, Jon.
This is definitely an improvement.
But the Groups pane still wants to be bigger than the size it is when I close BE.
If I align the divider (between Groups and Ref. List pane) with the "F" in Finder (in menu above) and close BE, the divider reappears about an inch to the right on relaunch.
This is not such a problem, of course, but it does seem that BE wants the Groups pane to have a minimum size.
Maybe it's trying to tell me something?
Cheers

Hi,

Yes, I see that. It really should remember the exact spot at which it was closed (and yes, there is a minimum size). I'll see if I can play with that and save you an extra half inch or so.
