endnote back door?

Post by wgowen »

I am extensively editing a .doc paper written by a postdoc who has moved on. The revision will include substantial additions to the bib, which he created with Endnote. Most of the references are in my Bookends database. On a whim I tried an unscan, which of course did not do the job in spite of appearing to try. There are only 24 references so doing a manual rebuild is feasible, but I am wondering if there is some back door trick I could use to get the {temporary citations} for references already in my database back in to the body of the paper. Then I would only have to enter a few manually.

I could import his endnote library but there would be some major housecleaning to do.

Hi,

First, unscan with EndNote, not Bookends. Now you'll have the temp citations back.

The question you have asked is actually in our FAQ:

Let me know if you still have questions about how to do this.
