A few weeks ago, I wrote in a different thread how I use Mellel/Bookends/and Indesign to put together grant applications. Following my post, I noticed that there were many users disappointed in the inability to use Bookends with Pages (count me among them). Since Pages is, in many ways, Indesign Lite, I wonder if it would be possible for Bookends to work directly with Indesign, either by way of scripting or a plug-in. Ideally, Bookends would be able to scan individual text threads or all of the text threads in a document to compile a bibliography, and then output the bibliography directly into one of the Indesign text threads. I probably haven't played with this as much as I should to fully explore the capabilities of using RTF export and formatting to partially address Bookends compatibility, but I am curious to hear whether others use Indesign and Bookends in conjunction and whether direct future compatibility is something we can hope for (or would be useful to others)!

Indesign plug-in?
Re: Indesign plug-in?
Hi all, this was 5 years ago …
I wonder if an Indesign plug-in, to support Bookends scanning, is still not under way?

Hi,
No, I have no plans to specifically support Indesign. I have no idea if it does, but if it supports RTF that might be a solution.
