Serials

Post by tole »

Hi,
I'm in trouble since I can't open BE on my iMac and my MacBookPro at the same time anymore. Each time I start BE on one of the machines while it is running on the other I get a notice that I have to by an additional serial number: "Another copy of BE with the same serial number is running on this network". Do you have any idea how I can get access to both databases again for syncing?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi,

Single user licenses let you have Bookends on more than one machine (for one user, though), but they can't run simultaneously. There is no need to do that -- only the copy of Bookends on the machine initiating the sync should be running. (In fact, if the database is open on both computers sync may fail -- I haven't tried this myself, but I would expect it to fail -- only one copy of Bookends should be running).

Thanks for your quick support, I didn't know that it works without BE being open on both devices!
