problem with 'Unscan Document'

Post by proteinchaser »

I just tried to unscan a manuscript that I need to revise, but Unscan Document does not work. When I select the Unscan Document script in Word2011, Bookends is activated, but nothing happens in the document. I can still toggel the field codes by right-clicking the reference in the manuscript, and the document will re-scan with a different format. But the document won't unscan. Any way to make this happen??

Oh, one other thing. This may be due to the bug in Word that causes it to stop responding to the Paste AppleEvent. This is discussed in our FAQ. If that's the problem, doing a manual Paste after the unscan will insert the unscanned document.

I got it to work by copying the text from the existing document (that wouldn't unscan) into a "NEW" blank word file. Unscan then worked fine.

Hm, it's possible that the original Word document was corrupted somehow. Or it's possible that Word simply started responding to the Paste AppleEvent again. In any case, glad it's working now.
