Smart Group of a Reference Type

Post by mestrius »

I've been looking through the User's Guide and this Forum, but I wasn't able to figure out how to create a dynamic Smart Group that will searching for a type of reference. For instance, I would like to create a group that contained all 'Dissertations' and eventually Dissertations of particular attributes. I tried using SQL and REGEX but it seems like a reference type is not one of the fields Bookends searches through.

Does anyone have any idea how this can be done?

Actually, the SQL search does search for reference type (TYPE = 9, for example). The number is the value of the Type in the list (a 0-based list, so 9 = Journal Article).

But that's the hard way. In the regular smart search use the pop-up menus to set "Type" "is" "Journal article".
