Sudden unusual problem...

Post by Blot »

Hello

Bookends has suddenly stopped working correctly. I open my library, click on a reference in the reference window and it starts to highlight all the references I move the pointer over (that is I'm not dragging or holding down any buttons). A similar thing happens when I select a static group. Groups are automatically selected when I move the pointer. Not having problems with any other applications or with keyboard/mouse etc. Running the latest version on OSX 10.8.2. Have been using bookends for years usually works. Haven't updated anything recently. Have I missed something really obvious? At one point a window with 'nil-object' error appeared. Am a little worried because Bookends is central to my work.

thanks

I don't know what the problem is, but I would think that if you quit and relaunched Bookends it would go away. Did you try that? If you did and it didn't help, I'd see what a reboot of the Mac would do.

Just an fyi - I am having a very similar problem (and just to make it better, my thesis is literally due today). Tried rebooting and reinstalling Bookends, neither helped, but will try both again.

This isn't a Bookends problem (although it affects Bookends). Try to think what may have changed on your system since you last used Bookends. The op fixed the problem with a reboot. If you can't, try rebooting in safe mode (Shift key held down) and see if that helps.
