Lost special-characters option in Bookends 12

Hi,

yesterday I upgraded to Bookends 12, and today I realized to my surprise that the "special characters"-fiel in the Edit-menu is gone ... (in the User Guide on page 275 it is still shown). In my version (operating in part with German names) the last field in the menu is "speech" (called "Sprachausgabe").

That's odd. It's there on my (US) system. Anyone else finding that the Edit -> Special Characters menu isn't showing up on English or non-English systems?

French locale here. Indeed, I do not see an Edit->Special Characters menu.

I use a Finnish version of Mac OS X 10.7.5. Bookends 12 has no problems in showing the Edit->Special Characters menu.

It's there for me: system set to UK English.

Just switched my system to English - and there it is again! Really odd ...

Turns out this is a bug in the framework (failure to show on French systems). It will be fixed in a future update.
