I am importing a lot of references from my old reference software (LitLink) via the BibTex format into Bookends. Now I have encountered several problems, the majority of which seem to originate from the LitLink output (which I'm working on). However, there is one problem I can't seem to resolve via the output.
It only regards book chapters in edited books: the book title (named booktitle in the BibTex format) always shows in the title field, separated from the chapter's title only by a paragraph.
Anybody who could help me with that? Thanks in advance!

The first editor is missing (although I think that is a LitLink problem), and the booktitle will go into the Title field...
Open the BibTeX filter in Bookends. booktitle is mapped to the Title field. You want to map it to the Volume field for book chapters (i.e. edit the filter). You may have to import book chapters separately if this change affects the import of other Types (e.g. book).
That worked! I just had to understand that the Book title field is the same as the Volume field. No problem with importing the other types either. Thanks a lot!!
I'm using the same thread for posting another problem:
My BibTex output separates author and co-author with an "and", which will be inserted before the co-author's name in the author/editor field in Bookends. I don't want any "and" though, and if I wanted, it would be better to insert it in my citation style, wouldn't it?
So my question is: is there any way to tell Bookends to ignore the "and", or does anybody know of another way to tell BibTex that the next name belongs to another author?

The editor is empty, but that's a Litlink problem I'm working on.
It didn't import correctly for me... but now I changed the import filter to "authors separated by ;" and adjusted it in the output. I may have changed something there by accident.
It seems to be working now, thanks again!
