As part of a major summer housekeeping project, I need to generate a bibliography listing all attachments with their full filesystem path.
Unfortunately, the "h" field code generates only the file name, without the full path. Is there a way to achieve this? Jon, would you consider adding that facility? Many thanks.
Exporting attachment names with full path
Re: Exporting attachment names with full path
Bookends doesn't store the full path to a PDF, it just stores the name. The full path has to be constructed on-the-fly, and currently there's no way to automate its output. For most users the pdf is simply in the default attachment folder (so the URL is obvious). Frankly, I don't know if this is a feature of sufficient general interest to add. Would anyone else find it useful, and if so, why?

Re: Exporting attachment names with full path
It's true, this sounds like a fringe use case, and even I would only need the feature once a year or so. I I don't want to be egocentric, I withdraw my suggestion, unless it's really easy to implement. Thanks anyway.

Re: Exporting attachment names with full path
Jon, it occurred to me that it would be helpful enough if I could retrieve a list of all paths that Bookends seeks attachments in (i.e. all paths containing at least one Bookends attachment).
Is it possible? Perhaps I could find this info in some .pref file?

Re: Exporting attachment names with full path
It is contained in preferences, but not exposed (actually, the aliases to the folders are stored, which are not human-readable). If this is something important to you, you can send me your Bookends 12 preferences file and I can get the list for you.
