Unique attachments folder for each library?

Post by pwg »

I'm sure this question must have been asked/answered before, but the Forum search box won't let me search for 'attachments' or 'attachments folder'. So I haven't been able to find the earlier threads (sort of defeats the purpose of having a forum, doesn't it?).

I cannot see in Bookends any way to have a unique attachments folder for each library. To me, this seems logical, however. I keep my PDFs in EagleFiler libraries where they are readily searched. I would like Bookends to use the same folders.

I don't want to clutter up my libraries by having just one repository of documents. Just as I have separate Bibilographies for different subject matter, so I'd like to use different folders for the research.

Am I missing a way to assign each Bookends Library an exclusive attachments folder?

Thank-you,

Peter

Yes: File -> Set Default Attachment Subfolder. As implied, the default subfolder must reside on the main default attachment folder. You can assign your main EagleFiler pdf folder as the default Bookends attachment folder (assuming there is one).

Thank you Jon. Browsing through the menus, I completely missed that distinction between "Attachment Folder" and "Attachment Subfolder". This does just what I want. (I see now that the Manual mentions this facility (e.g. p 270) but I missed it there, too, because I searched for 'folder'!)
