My main use of the term list is to try to standardise on author names, journal titles and keywords. This is currently very tedious, I have to copy the "source" name, the context-click and "Replace..." the destination item.
I would love it if I could drag one item onto another, this would combine these two author names / keywords / journal names — I'd be happy to have a single "Are you sure?" requestor pop up if you are worried about users accidentally dragging items.
Feature Request: drag-n-drop renaming in the term list

Interesting idea. I'll add this to the list of feature requests to investigate.

Awesome feature in fact. It works very well in Mendeley and Papers. It allows curating the database with less risk of mistake. Plus, as it is easier and very quick, I find myself doing it very often in other programs.
Thanks Jon (I'm still VERY impressed by the support you provide)

This sounds like a great idea.
This kind of smoothing of workflow seems like a good place to concentrate (rather than, say, the cosmetic changes suggested in another thread recently).
