I've attempted to set up keyboard shortcuts within Word 2011 for the BE scripts (…Find in Bookends, Go to Bookends etc.). I've found some simple directions that seem to work great with the exception of the Insert Citation which worked upon my first assignment but refuses to work again.
Here is what I did:
1)locate the BookEnds scripts that are working with Word
2) change the name of each script so that it ends with the control-option modifier to the end of the script file name, e.g. Find in Bookends Script\coF
Now, pressing ctrl-option and the modifier key will run the script in Word. It worked one time for ctrl-option I to "insert citation" and now it will not work. I've attempted to search if that is a modifier key combination in Word and it may be to insert an additional row in a table, but I cannot find where to delete that key combo in Word. However, what is more frustrating is attempting to change the insert citation keyboard short cut to any other key combo still yields no action.
I am curious to hear if others have figured out a way to rapidly insert a BookEnds citation or use the other Word scripts without taking their hands off the keyboard to do so.

Re: trying to create keyboard shortcuts in Word 2011
Word can famously stop responding to AppleEvents, for whatever reason. We even have a FAQ about it.
