Bug or feature?

I have discovered a strange behavior: I am not sure if this is a bug or a feature.
Here is the problem.
I am looking to a Smart Group (the selection is on one entry on one group).
Now I want to add a New reference. Fine: On the right panel I see an empty form. I start typing the author name and strangely I see that in the reference highlighted on the Smart Group the author is changed!!! Horror. There is no way to go back, the entry is ruined and f I go to the All references I discover that now I have an empty reference on top.
If it is not possible to create a new reference when looking to a Smart Group it should be locked or whatever.

I can't reproduce this problem. Please try with a fresh database. If you still see a problem, please contact tech support directly (support@sonnysoftware.com) with a screen snap showing what you are doing.

It seems the problem only happens if you use the popup add reference menu rather than the Refs -> New Ref menu. I'll take a look.

Thank you Jon. It happens sometime also when you hit Command New and also from the menu. It is not a nice bug, because you inadvertently could ruin your records whit no recover!

I can't get it to happen when I use the Refs menu, but I can when I use the add reference popup menu button in the toolbar. I see why and it's fixed for the next update. Please get back to me if you find any problems in the next release.
