User1 column sorting not retained after new reference

Background: I have to use User1 Column to sort my references, otherwise I waste time trying to locate many references of a single author. My User1 is a combination of AuthorYear (Citekey for LaTeX).

Problem: Whenever I add a reference, though, the top arrow alpha-num sorting disappears from column header, which turns off keyboard so I can no longer quickly locate references. This requires clicking the column again to resort. I would like to have sorting retained, please. On a second note, when I open and close BE it would be nice to have the sorting retained as well, becuase it reverts back to no sort.

I don't see any problem like this. You should contact tech support with screen snaps.
