Viewing LaTeX attachments

When I attach a .tex file, in the attachment preview pane Bookends says "Can't display this file's contents". Of course, it works fine if I rename the file to .txt, but I prefer to keep the original file extension. Is there anything I can do to allow Bookends to display .tex files (as plain text)?
