Online search comes out empty

I have the latest Sierra update, which has problems but I don't know if this one is related. When I use online search only the cited column is populated. Blanks are authors, date, title, source. Now they are all there because on the lower panel I can see them, and can even import. But this is at the cost of time wasted.
