How to cite a volume in a series of books

Post by bmalin »

Hi ... thanks in advance for help, I find it difficult to locate answers to my questions in the comprehensive manual and forum.

I have a "Complete Works" series of books for which I'd like to have one reference. That means I'd like to use either the "Copy citation and modifiers", or another method, to add an in line reference that cites the volume number before the page numbers. I'd rather not make a reference for each volume. I could 'fake it' by inserting, for example, "242-246, V. VII" in the "Cited page or range" field, but of course it should be the other way around, "V. VII, pp. 242-246".

I appreciate your help.

A pointer to the relevant page numbers in the reference manual would be great, too ...

If you want to enter ad hoc text after a reference, use the "literal text option". You can't mix this with cited pages, so put both in the the temporary citation yourself, like this

{temp cite\ V. VII, pp. 242-246\}
