separating multiple citations

Post by xoanohn »

I see that in format manager - citation options - common settings, I see that separate multiple citations with option.

I want multiple citations with ";" but the ones with the same authors to be separated with a ",".

How do I do that?

E.g. {^Swain, 1985, #19114; ^Swain, 1988, #19144; Swain, 1995, #80880; Vygotsky, 1987, #27663}.

to

(Swain, 1985, 1988, 1999; Vygotsky, 1987).

You can if you're using Author-Date output. In Common Settings tick Use year-only for repeated authors, set Separate years with to comma.
