How many tags could we add in one smart group (search attachments by file tags)

Post by minimo »

Hello!

I have found that when I added a second file tag into the search attachment by tags (smart group). The results are not accurate (for example, a total number of papers from two tags is 6: 3 from tag B and another 3 from tag B, but it shows more than 15 papers) unlike having only one tag name (it shows only 3 papers). I have tried adding comma, and, &, or / between those two tags (for example, "name" and "name"). However, it did not work.

Is there any way I could make one smart group contains two tags and have an accurate results?

Thank you so much

Please see p. 83 of the user guide, which discusses boolean operations in the file tag search.

You should use and, or, and not. For example, search for

chicken and duck

Note that an AND boolean search like this will find only files that have both chicken and duck in the Spotlight index.
