I'm sick in bed, and it would be really nice to be able to override the copy of Bookends running on my other computer without having to go to the computer and close it.
Would it be possible to have a "lock other copy" button that would switch exclusive access to the current computer?
Thanks

Re: Another copy of Bookends is running - override
I get caught by this occasionally too and I need to "remote control" back to the computer over the network to close the application. So have a +1 if it would not be too much work to implement.
Alternatively, maybe the application's registration could be locked to the user's iCloud account. Then piracy protection is assured (who would want to give their iCloud account information out to others?) and absent-minded academics can carry on working.
Whether it would be easy to implement, or not, is something I don't know about. I do understand WHY the company wants to protect its software from being spread around as a "freebie" (sic).

In the next update you'll be able to quit the remote copy of Bookends so that you can continue to work with it on the local computer.
