everything works perfect - the watch folder is imported and all references are in the database. I am only missing an automatic refresh, as I have to close and reopen the database all times, as the covid literature is piling up ....

There is no automatic refresh on purpose because it would be distracting if you were working and suddenly the list updates and a new reference is selected (this is discussed in the User Guide -- don't forget the watch folder can be on a server shared by multiple users). The only time there's an automatic update is when you are importing into a group and that group is showing.

But you don't need to close and reopen the library -- just click the All group and the list will refresh immediately.
