Lean Library

Post by AndrewKornberg »

Hi All

My University has gone from an EzyProxy to Lean Library. Information is here: https://www.leanlibrary.com/

It is seamless outside Bookends and when I search Pubmed and click on the link to download, the Chrome add in knows that my library has subscribed and I can download the PDF. However, it is not how I have ever done it and I usually do an online search in Bookends, then click a reference, login (ezyproxy) and download directly to Bookends.

With this new method - as the Bookends Browser does not have the Extension, it won't work.

My questions:
1. Has anyone had a similar issue?
2. Is there a way around it?
3. Can the internal Bookends Browser be changed to Chrome - that will solve the issue as the extension is there?

Thanks

Andrew

Bookends Browser is not based on any standalone product, it's written using the macOS WebKit APIs. Have you tried doing your searches in Chrome and then, when the PDF is found, using the Bookends bookmarklet to switch to Bookends Browser? I don't know if that would get around the paywall or not.
