I've recently purchased bookends for OSX and iOS with a view to transferring my bibliographies from Papers3/readcube to Bookends with the ability to sync using iCloud.
After several failed attempts I managed to transfer my Papers3 database to Bookends and can now access all my PDF's satisfactorily. However, I have an issue with syncing via iCloud. On my iPad I can see all my references listed, most with a paperclip symbol to indicate an attachment. However, I can't access the attachments. What I do see though, highlighted in yellow, is a reference to my Papers3 library.
Clearly I am doing something wrong but can't find any useful help to guide me. Can someone please offer any advice. Thank you

Re: iSync
I've followed the instructions for both OSX and IOS versions of bookends but ma still having trouble with syncing references between OS X and iOS.
All my references are listed correctly in the iOS version. However, when I try to access the pdf I am transferred to the doi link and not to the pdf versions of the paper which are stored on iCloud. I know the papers are there because I can access the file and the pdf's independently of bookends.
This is beginning to drive me mad. I transferred to bookends from papers 3 because I was having trouble with ReadCube. Now I'm having different, but equally frustrating troubles with Bookends!

Re: iSync
Which app are you referring to that can't access the PDF, Bookends for Mac or for iOS? This is the Bookends Mac forum -- if it's the iOS app you should post this in its forum.
