Hi,
I am working through importing my Papers3 library to Bookends. There are quite a few pdfs for which Bookends can't autocomplete the metadata and I'm having to try and do this manually.
I'm wondering - if I import a reference (either through the native online search or from an external file - e.g. from Pubmed) is it possible in Bookends to select that reference and the associated pdf attachment (which currently contains no metadata) and merge the two, to end up with a single reference with the attached pdf?
Thanks,
Paul
Merge two refs?
Re: Merge two refs?
No, it can't. But frankly I don't understand the original problem with the import from Papers. If Papers had the metadata then it will be imported into Bookends. Please contact tech support with more information about this issue.

Re: Merge two refs?
I have a similar need. I can get meta-data from a different source (in RIS format), and would like to apply those meta data to a Bookends reference. May need to do this a large number of times.

There is the feature Compare References, which lets you move data from one reference to another (merge). But this requires the user to decide what is merged and what isn't. It can't be done in batch.
