Punctuating Journal Abbreviations

Post by Fedster »

Hello, I would like to know how do I export references so that the Journal Abbreviations have punctuation:

J. Anim. Sci.

not

J Anim Sci

using j in the field order does not do it.

Bookends can add journal periods when formatting references -- you must be using a journal glossary to do this, and each journal you use must be entered in it (with periods). In the format you tell Bookends to strip out the periods or not. You can either start with one of our glossaries (e.g. Concise Medline) and add journals like J Anim Sci that are not in it, or create your own.

It has nothing to do with the format are using. You active a journal glossary by selecting it in the Window menu, then it's available for any format.

Please read about how journal glossaries work in the User Guide (Help menu).
