I've only recently purchased Bookends and am slowly getting acquainted with the amazing range of options it gives me. Aside from the main use of listing journal articles for papers, I've created a database of books for sale (previously I had used the freeware "Books"). Bookends imported the book data by ISBN from Amazon much faster and more reliably than Books.
I'd like to export the database as a webpage complete with the image covers. I've spent an hour or so looking through the manual but cannot work out how to do this.
Can anyone help?
Cover Images in Bibliography
Hi,
Never tried this, but I think should be able to have Bookends generate a HTML-bibliography which has something like this:
<a href="http://www.mydomain.com"><img src="myfolder/subfolder/images/theimage.jpg"></a>
See the User Guide on creating formats (and note the use of the "quote" ($)and "force-quote" (`) charaters to output the constant portions of the link. I think there's also a section on Bookends Server that tells you how to create formats that return links.
